Thinking Maps
Thinking Maps are consistent visual patterns that are tied specifically to eight thought processes. Thinking Maps allow students to visualize their thinking by creating concrete images of their thoughts. The use of the eight maps help all students reach higher levels of critical thinking. In a district-wide implementation, Palm Springs Unified School District has provided a consistent language across all content areas via these eight maps. As our district supports the implementation of California's vision through the ELA/ELD Framework, Thinking Maps will also be used to uphold the expectations and requirements of both Integrated and Designated ELD.
